The Itinerary
Arrive into Rafael Núñez International Airport (CTG) — preferably late morning to early afternoon for smooth group transfers. Your private transfer takes you directly to our hotel. Check in, settle in, and let Cartagena find its way to you. A casual welcome meetup is available in the evening for those who want to connect early.
We start with a guided exploration of Cartagena's Old Town — its walled colonial architecture, vibrant plazas, and layered history. From there, we move into Getsemaní, the city's most colorful and culturally alive neighborhood. In the evening, your GTU host introduces the group to one of Cartagena's most iconic salsa venues. Live music, dancing, and the kind of night that doesn't need a plan.
We head out on a private boat to the Rosario Islands — a stunning Caribbean archipelago of turquoise water, white sand, and zero agenda. Swim stops, beach club time, and a proper lunch included on the water. One of those full days that feels like a week of vacation on its own. We return to Cartagena late afternoon, sun-tired and satisfied.
Today is intentionally unscheduled. Pool time, a local beach club visit, boutique shopping in the Old Town, or a spa afternoon — this is your day to move at whatever pace feels right. Your GTU host is available if you want recommendations or want to group up for something spontaneous.
An optional Afro-Colombian cultural excursion to San Basilio de Palenque is available today for those who want to go deeper — a UNESCO-recognised village and one of the first free African towns in the Americas. The evening brings the full group back together for a hosted farewell dinner. A proper send-off to cap a week well spent.
After breakfast, the group departs at their own pace. Airport transfers are coordinated based on your flight times. Take one last walk through the walled city, grab a tinto, and carry Cartagena with you.
